When you are looking around to find the right mobile makeup artist for you here in Melbourne kindly ask to see their professional portfolio including work in different areas of the industry as this will show versatility and will also show a larger scale of booked and paid work.

When looking through the artists portfolio there really are two areas in relation to makeup you need to look at thoroughly prior to booking your trial. The base, the foundation needs to blend perfectly with the skin in the correct tone and look like your own perfected skin. You don’t need to choose airbrushing to get a fabulous covered effect, good products and correct application can do this and keep it secure until removed.

The next focus is on the eyes. Ensure the artist has a range of natural styles, smoky eye looks, bronze tones and with and without lashes for example. If your exact look is not there don’t worry as long as all the styles you see throughout the portfolio you either like or work well on their client.

Most importantly it needs to work well together. Once I book in my client I ask her for a full list of visual aids and have had the conversation as to what she really likes and the little things she may not like on her or feel comfortable wearing. My job is to give her the look she has chosen and ensure it works for her and allow her to feel comfortable to let me know of any changes.

Once you have confirmed your artist you need to be have a professional and open friendship. I know once I apply the look I have been told to create that is not the final cut there needs to be time allowed at the end of the trial and the day for any changes to be made and documented.

I wish you the best of luck with finding the best artist and vendors and most of all have a memorable wedding day with your new husband.

Karly recently did my makeup for my year 12 formal and it was gorgeous. I showed her a picture of what I liked and she made it suit my face and dress perfectly and was exactly what I wanted. She’s extremely nice and the price was very reasonable, would highly recommend!

Firstly and most importantly thank you so much for doing such an amazing job for us on our big day! You made us ladies all look and feel a million dollars and we had nothing but positive comments all day and afterwards from the photos. The feedback from all the girls was how lovely you were and how lucky we were to find you and I wholeheartedly agree with that! I couldn’t have been happier with how my hair and make-up turned out and it lasted all day and well into the early hours of the next day!
